About Follette Pottery
In 1969, Libby and Kent met while attending Louisiana Tech University. The art class they met in has now lasted 50 years. Every day is truly a creative experience. Married almost immediately after meeting (Kent says not soon enough), they began an adventure that took them to many interesting places and circumstances.
After completing graduate school and finding that teaching pottery did not allow time for creating pottery, Kent’s lifelong dream of being a full-time potter was fulfilled in 1980 when the Follettes moved back to the small town of Ruston. Kent and Libby found 12 beautiful, wooded acres 5 miles outside of town. While Libby worked in her family business, Kent cleared the land and built the original pottery. Libby joined Kent full time in 1994.
What started off as a dream has turned into wonderful life. Today, the Follettes live in Gonzales, Louisiana. They sell their pottery on Etsy and travel to different festivals throughout the year.
